LED desk lamp is a dual function device. Besides serving as a pretty bright and highly adjustable desk lamp, colored LED’s in the base provide a decorative element that can generate different emotions, from excitement, to a feeling of calm or wellbeing.

The lamp is powered by an internal rechargeable battery, and has two concentric power buttons located on the base. The center button controls the lamp, and is used to set it at one of three different light levels.

For a desk lamp, this one is larger sized, and its highly adjustable 11 inch long flexible arm allows you to direct the light where it will be the most effective. At the highest level, light output is impressive with a nice wide distribution of light. This lamp should do a nice job of lighting a desktop or other workspace.

The decorative colored LED’s are located in a “C” shaped area on the base. The power control for the colored LED’s is a colored ring encircling the lamp power button. When the colored light is turned on the color setting will be the same as when it was last on.

The ring is made up of a spectrum of colors, and when you push down on a particular color, the LED’s in the base will change to match that color, or very close to it. This is an extremely cool feature, as the color can very easily be changed by a single touch. Pressing and holding the color power button causes the ring to continuously change colors. The intensity of the colored lights remains close to constant.

The lamp and colored light functions operate independently of each other. You can use one or the other, or both at the same time. The desk lamp apparently uses a maximum of 7 watts, while the colored LED’s consume about 5 watts, as could serve as a night light. A 30 inch long USB cord with an AC adapter plug attachment is included to provide power and recharge the internal battery.
