Tapered roller bearings: can bear radial and axial loads at the same time, double row tapered roller bearings can bear bidirectional axial loads. Because of the sliding friction between the big end of the tapered roller and the inner ring rim, its limit speed is often lower than the cylindrical roller bearing of the same size. Hollow tapered roller bearings can be cooled with oil, so that the temperature rise is reduced, thus increasing the allowable speed.
